The Board of Practical Training (Eastern Region) (BoPTER) on May 12, 2026, issued a notification regarding revision of the existing Central Govt share of stipend payable to apprentices under Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
The following has been stated:-
•The Ministry has revised the minimum stipend rates payable to apprentices under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) with effect from April 01, 2026.
•The revised monthly stipend has been increased to ₹9,600 for vocational apprentices, ₹10,900 for diploma apprentices, and ₹12,300 for graduate apprentices.
•The Government of India will bear 50% of the minimum prescribed stipend amount through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) from April 01, 2026.
•Establishments have been directed to implement the revised rates and ensure compliance, while also being encouraged to pay stipends above the minimum prescribed levels.
